Sliding-Scale Therapy in Eugene, Oregon
I keep a small number of sliding scale spots in my practice for clients who would have difficulty accessing this work at full fee. Individual sessions are offered on a sliding scale of $65–$105 per 55-minute session, and couples sessions on a sliding scale of $105–$155 per 85-minute session. We talk about what's sustainable in our first conversation, and you choose a rate within that range. I don't require proof of income.
Common Situations
The people who come to me for reduced-rate work arrive from different places. Some have insurance that technically covers therapy, but between deductibles and co-pays it isn't usable in practice. Some lost their previous OHP provider during the PacificSource to Trillium transition and have not been able to find another in-network option. Some are navigating a transition or a loss that needs attention sooner than insurance waitlists allow. And some prefer to keep therapy off insurance records — for privacy, for autonomy, or because they want the kind of depth-oriented work that often doesn't fit inside short-term insurance models.
What connects these situations is that the standard path — finding an in-network provider, working through your benefits — either isn't working or isn't a good fit for what you actually need.
The Work Itself
What I offer at a sliding scale rate is the same work I offer at full fee — therapy grounded in an existential-humanistic orientation, focused on meeting what is present in your life rather than managing it from a distance. Most people who reach out are navigating anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulty, or life transitions. Beneath any of these, what often emerges are deeper questions about meaning, identity, and direction.
This is ongoing, depth-oriented therapy. It is not crisis-only or short-term work, though it does support people moving through difficult periods of their lives.
How to Begin
If a sliding scale spot would make therapy possible for you, the best next step is to reach out through the contact form and mention that you're interested in reduced-rate work. I typically respond within one business day. If a spot isn't immediately available, I'll let you know what is — including waitlist options, short-term support, or referrals to other low-fee resources in the area.
