Frequently Asked Questions
Below are answers to some of the most common questions people have when considering therapy with me. If you don’t see your question you’re welcome to reach out.
Getting Started
How long are sessions?
Individual sessions are 55 minutes. Couples sessions are 85 minutes. Extended sessions are also available by request.
How often do we meet?
I typically work with new clients on a weekly basis.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is usually spent getting to know each other and discuss what has brought you to therapy. I’ll also briefly review a few policies and answer any questions you may have. The goal of the first session is not to solve everything immediately, but to find a grounded place to begin.
How do I schedule an intake appointment?
To get started, visit the Contact page and complete the New Client Contact Form. I’ll be in touch within one business day to discuss next steps and answer any questions you may have.
How do I know if therapy with you is a good fit?
The first session is an opportunity to get a sense of whether working together feels right. You’re welcome to ask questions, share what’s bringing you in, and explore how the conversation feels. If it feels like a good fit, we can talk about how to move forward. If not, I can help point you toward other resources.
Where is your office located?
My office is located in South Eugene, for detailed directions see the Office & Directions page.
Fees & Payment
What are your session fees?
Individual therapy sessions are 55 minutes and are offered at $105 per session.
Couples sessions are 85 minutes and are offered at $155 per session.
I offer a limited sliding scale for clients who need a more accessible option. My goal is to find a rate that allows therapy to remain sustainable over time.
Sliding Scale
Individuals: $65 ░░███░░ $105
Couples: $105 ░░███░░ $155
What payment types do you accept?
I accept credit and debit cards, cash, and checks, as well as Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards.
Do you accept insurance?
If you have insurance, I recommend starting with a brief phone consultation so we can talk through your situation. During the consultation I can provide an estimate for your out-of-pocket cost.
Do you accept the Oregon Health Plan (OHP)?
I am not currently a provider with the Oregon Health Plan.
However, I do offer a limited sliding-scale for clients who need a more accessible rate. If you’re unsure whether therapy might be possible financially, you’re welcome to reach out and we can talk about what options might be available.
Format & Policies
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. What you share in therapy is confidential, with a few legal and ethical exceptions that I’ll review with you during the intake process.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes. If you’re unable to attend sessions in person at my South Eugene office, I offer secure telehealth sessions for clients located anywhere in Oregon.
What is your cancellation policy?
I have a 48-hour cancellation policy. This allows me to offer consistent care while respecting the time set aside for each client.
