This page shares my background, personal philosophy, and the experiences that shaped how I approach therapy in Eugene and Springfield, Oregon.
My Life Experience
From a young age, I was captivated by art and music. By the time I was in high school, I felt certain I would pursue a creative path in life. As time passed, I found myself working in business management and information technology.
During this period of my life, much of my free time was spent riding bicycles and exploring Western and Eastern perspectives on consciousness and reality. I found my way into meditation and Zen practice, which gradually became an important anchor for me. In 2016, I went through Zaike Tokudō—lay ordination—marking a personal commitment to living as authentically as I could.
Around that same time, I lost my father unexpectedly. His death, combined with years of spiritual and philosophical exploration, pushed me to reflect deeply on the direction of my life. I changed careers and became a commercial photographer and fine artist, but eventually realized I wanted work that was both creative and relational—something that connected my interest in the inner world with my desire to support others. That search led me to become a therapist.
My work now integrates everything that has shaped me. I see therapy as a balance of art, science, and genuine human connection. It is my sincere hope that by showing up as my authentic self, you’ll feel safe enough to do the same.
